Carolina Basketball Sideline Out of Bounds Play
Contributed by Coach Creighton Burns
On all out of bounds plays the most important factor is to get the ball in-bounds, then to look for an opportunity to score.
1 comes off O5′s screen. Note that O5 moves into the lane to set the screen, this is because if X1 sags, there must be a good angle to rub O1’s defender off the screen. O3 enters to O1.
O2 then uses one of these options:
Option #1
come off O5′s down screen and look for a pass from O1. O5 will then post as 4 flashes high. O2 can make a play, pass inside to 5 or, if 5 is fronted, pass to 4 who looks to go high-low to 5.
or
Option #2
come off O4 and O3′s staggered down screen and look for a pass from 1.
